Welcome to the Saga of Solomon Berg, a Project Black Kraken Project. The purpose of this blog is to collect, in one place, the ephemera of the life of the late Lieutenant Colonel Solomon Berg, of the USMC crypto-program Project Black Kraken. As Solomon said, "There are no heroes to the Squatch." So, in honor of his wisdom, we will not call Berg a hero. He was a human being, not some patriarchal western construct. He died as he lived: honorably.
Solomon Berg was born in Westchester, New York, to Phil and Judith Berg, and lived there for most of his childhood until he was 15 and his family relocated to Yonkers, closer to the community they served. Berg's parents were philanthropists who helped to put computers in public schools in the 90s. Berg was a basketball star and an honors student. He was raised in Humanistic Judaism. He attended Temple University, where he later taught, when he wasn't traveling to other countries or living on Mars. Berg is survived by his older sister, Esther Rothbard of New York City. May his memory be a blessing.
RIP Lt. Col. Solomon Berg, PhD
1984-2023
